Doree Leventhal Dress Advert 1956
A short evening dress made in a Martin and Savage Velvet made with Courtaulds’ rayon. By Doree Leventhal Ltd. 1st December 1956. Advert courtesy Brittania and Eve.

Doree Leventhal Ltd was incorporated on 5th April 1929 during the heady days of the Wireless Age.

In those days, clothes were long and slinky but the label understood fashion.

They lasted for over 100 years, taking trends and reinventing them in eye catching designs and styles for the more affluent market.

They remained as gown manufacturers right through until the 1980s when the company was liquidated in the early 1980s.
